Race Rules

Article 1: The Race

On Sunday, June 25, 2017 at 10 am, the 1st edition of the Diversity Madrid Race will be held, organized by WorldPride Madrid 2017 and under the technical direction of MAPOMA.

Article 2: Courses

The event has two distances, 10.000m and 5.000m. Both distances will pass through entirely urban circuits closed to traffic and the Start and Finish Line will be in Plaza de Colón of Madrid.

Article 3: Payment

The registration for any of the distances will cost 17.60 euros, of which 2 euros will be donated to sponsored charities.

Registrations can be made from May 1, 2017 until June 18, 2017 or until reaching the maximum limit of participants.

The payments can be made through the link enabled on the official website of the race: http://carreradiversidad.com

All registered participants must be at least 16 years old on the day of the race for the 10.000m, and at least 14 years old for the 5.000m race.

 The registration fees are non-refundable under any circumstances. The bib numbers are personal and non-transferable, and under no circumstances, once the registration has been formalized, can they be transferred to another person.

You must pick up your bib number on the same day of the race at the starting area from 8:30 AM

Article 4: Timing
Timing of the race will be carried out through the BIBTAG (dorsal-chip) system. Only the chips delivered by the organization at the moment of collection of bibs will be valid.

Article 5: Categories
The official classifications of the race will be established according to the following categories (male and female) for both the 10.000m race and the 5.000m race:
• General classification for men and women
• Classification by male and female categories

◦CADETE (born in 2002 and 2003) -can only run the 5K race
◦JUVENIL (born between 2000 and 2001)
◦SENIOR (born between 1983 and 1999)
◦VETERANO A (born between 1978 and 1982)
◦VETERANO B (Born between 1973 and 1977)
◦VETERANO C (Born between 1968 and 1972)
◦VETERANO D (Born in 1967 and earlier)

Article 6: Refreshment areas

Two refreshment areas will be installed, one at the km.5 mark of the 10.000m race, with liquid refreshments (water), and another area on the Finish Line, common to both distances, with various refreshments (water + isotonic drink + Pieces of fruit or similar).

Article 7: Other services

During the race day, the runners will be able to access the following services:
• WC: located in the Start area – Finish area

  • Locker Room: wardrobe service for runners is located in the Start-Finish area.

 

Article 8: Trophies and Classifications

The trophies will be delivered on June 25th from 11:00 am on the podium of winners located in the Finish Area. The following trophies will be awarded:

  • First 3 places for men and women in their respective distance of 10.000m and 5.000m

    The general times and standings will be available on the official website of the race once the last runner enters the finish line.

 

Article 9: Insurance

All participants will be covered by collective accident insurance and will at all times comply with the instructions made by the Organization through volunteers, technicians, judges, accredited personnel or the official public address service. Each runner participates in the Diversity Madrid Race under his / her own responsibility and declares to possess a enough level of physical condition to face the test. The Organization recommends that all participants perform a medical examination and / or exercise test prior to race.

The Organization declines all responsibility for damages that the participants may suffer or cause to third parties in hours before or after their participation in the race.

Article 10: Children

The minimum age to participate in the 10.000m of the Diversity Madrid Race is 16 years old on the day of the race.

The minimum age to participate in the 5.000 race of the Diversity Madrid Race is 14 years old on the day of the race. For participants under 18 years old on the day of the race, it will be necessary to submit written authorization from parents or legal guardians, authorizing them to run in the race, and also a copy of the Identity Card of the person who authorizes the minor to run. This authorization must be presented at the time of the removal of the dorsal-chip and commemorative T-Shirt. In case of not presenting this authorization, the runner will not be able to participate in the race, waiving the right to reimbursement of the registration amount.

Article 11: Disqualifications

All participants must wear the original fully visible bib number on the chest throughout the race. Any runner who crosses the finish line without this, or who demonstrates unsportsmanlike attitudes in the opinion of the Organizing Committee, will be disqualified.
In the same way, any participant who, at any time during the race, does not correctly wear the Dorsal-Chip will be disqualified. Also, any runner, that at any moment wears an assigned number of another participant or a bib of someone other than than themselves, will be disqualified.

Article 12: Vehicles

The only vehicles that can follow the race will be those credited by the organization, being the Municipal Police whom are able to sanction any vehicle that crosses the course without being credited.

Article 13: Image Rights and Data Protection

All participants, by formalizing their registration, accept the present regulation and give their consent to the A.D MAPOMA, by itself or through third parties, to treat their personal data, as well as their image in the race, by photos, videos, etc only for the purpose of sporting, promotional or comercial purposes.

In accordance with what is established in Organic Law 15/1999 of December 13 of the Protection of Personal Data, the participant may exercise their right of access to these files in order to rectify or cancel partially or totally the content. To exercise this right you must request it in writing to the registered office of the A.D. MAPOMA (C / Donoso Cortés, nº 54 - 28015 Madrid).
